Feeling good
To me, the most important aspect of volunteering is feeling good. Whilst those benefitting for your charitable acts are able to feel joyful and happier, those who volunteer also receive a serotonin boost. This is why, I would say, volunteering is so important. There isn’t really a negative to helping others, delivering kindness and the most minor and biggest deeds can have such a big impression on both yourself and those you are helping. Volunteering is more than simply giving to others; it is receiving from those you give to as well as forming connections and gaining an understanding of the wider world. I love volunteering with project impact as it has both helped me to feel better about myself as well as helped my confidence and knowledge of the wider world grow. Volunteering is so important, no matter what age, gender or race. It benefits all parties as creating a sense of community between those who would have otherwise made little connection. At the moment I’m currently volunteering with Project Impact by helping to bake food for those that need it as well as encouraging other young people to help and make a difference. I am also a Project ImpACT Ambassador, and I help plan and lead volunntering events and innititaives for younger volunteers. It has really helped me to grow as a person and I’m so excited to see what the future of Project ImpACT holds for me.
