David Parlons Award
David was a man of action and passionate advocate for education and learning initiating the first Bat Chayil programme and ceremony as Chairman of the Hebrew classes at Finchley United Synagogue. He also infused new life into Sandys Row, one of the nation’s oldest synagogues. In 2020 he was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the Jewish community.
Charles Wolfson Award
The Wolfson family is a British Jewish family known for its business, philanthropic, and political activities. The family owes its initial fame to Sir Isaac Wolfson, who built the Great Universal Stores retail empire and created the Wolfson Foundation, supporting a huge amount of charities across the UK and Israel.
Nick Tarsh Award
Nick Tarsh did an incredible amount of charity work throughout his lifetime and was awarded an OBE for his services to charities in Richmond. He volunteered with the homeless for 40 years and devoted 30 years to Relate. He was an active volunteer in the Jewish community and chair of the Tel Aviv University Trust.
Peter Kalms Award
Peter Kalms was a successful and dynamic businessman, activist and author, but most of all he was a passionate philanthropist and an active supporter of the Jewish community in the Soviet Union, Israel and the UK. He was always inspired by new creative ideas in the community supporting young people to make a difference.
Michael Brown Award
A dear and devoted father, husband and grandparent, Michael lived life to the full with a warm heart and a big smile. An optimist to the core, he always encouraged others with kind words and a twinkle of excitement in his eyes. He positive spirit, humour, warmth and presence is sorely missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
Sir Clive & Lady Judy Callman
Sir Clive and Lady Judy Callman were both inspiring people who gave so much of their lives and energy to charity. They believed that giving of yourself is part of who you are and should be. Sir Clive was knighted for his services to charity, as well as to law and education.
Wendy & Gerald Lipton Award
Gerald and Wendy were both pillars of the community who spent their time working on many charitable projects. Gerald was chairman of Nightingale House for 16 years and then life president. Wendy helped behind the scenes and together they raised millions of pounds for the charity. They also spent their married life being involved in Western Marble Arch Synagogue where the rest of their family are still members today.
